Just to let you all know, Rui and I put in an offer on a house last night. They countered and we accepted. Yay! We're super excited and happy. It's in east rochester, and near a park.

Ahh, it's nap time. The only time of day where I can really get anything done. Lily is 14 weeks now, just a little over 3 months. She is one chubby chunker. I don't know exactly how much she weights now, but my guess would be in the 14-15lb range somewhere.
She started giggling the other day, especially at stuffed animal type toys. GlowWorm is a favorite, and as soon as you turn it on she gets a HUGE grin on her face and makes cute little "ha-ha" sounds. She loves rocket ship too. You do a countdown then lift her over your head, bringing her down to give me a smack on the lips and back up again. It makes her smile and giggle to no end.
She's starting to interact with her environment. She loves grabbing on to rattles and toys, studying them intently. She has the most serious little stare, and will keep looking at something until she figures it out before moving on to something else. It seems that she has a better attention span then her mother does, haha.
She's so happy all the time, with big smiles for everyone. She only gets fussy if she's hungry, gassy or tired. And she fights sleep, like she doesn't want to miss out on anything. She hates her car seat, but loves car rides. And loves bath time, but only when it's in the big people tub with mommy.
She has her 4 month doctor's appointment in two weeks. I'll make sure to give you an update on how big my chubby girl is. There are more pictures and movies up on Flickr and YouTube.
If anyone wants to stop by just give us a ring, we love visitors.

Sorry I took so long for an update, new mommy-hood keeps me busy. Thanks for the kick in the butt ann marie, :-)
Today is Lily's 2 month birthday, and she is doing wonderfully. She had her well-visit with Dr Casey, her pediatrician, this Thursday and passed with flying colors. She's now 12lbs 10oz (the 95th percentile), which is a huge jump from the 8lbs 7oz she was born as. She's 23.5 inches long now (90th %) and her head circumference is 15.5 inches (75th %, a huge jump from 25th % last visit).
Developmentally Dr Casey said, "It's like she read the book on what 2 month olds are supposed to be able to do." She can hold her head up mostly on her own, and loves being on her tummy doing so. She's very alert and attentive. She especially loves looking at faces and things of high contrast, like the tv, closed vertical blinds & the light sneaking through, or lights themselves.
She also got all of her 2 month shots which she did not like one bit, but had no adverse reactions except being a little sleepy.
The best thing of all is she started smiling, and boy, does she love doing it now. When you play with her she will mirror any faces you make, including another favorite of sticking out your tongue. Smiles are the best because her whole face lights up. It's probably the best thing in the world.
She is such a cutie with her chubby cheeks and beautiful eyes. Rui and I are going picture crazy with her, and you can see most of them on Rui's Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/syphen). Our awesome camera also takes pretty good videos, and those are on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/syphen) to watch. We will constantly be adding more photos and videos of her, so keep checking back. I'm also going to start being good about updating this on events and changes.
We also LOVE visitors, and making trips out and about. So if anyone ever wants to stop by the apartment, or meet somewhere or anything like let us know. You can either call, message, email, im.. anything really.

I'm just going to give a quick synopsis:
Kendra was in labor for about 24 hours before the doctors decided to give her a C-section. Lily was born on Tuesday, August 21 at 2:15 pm. She has a full head of hair, 20 inches in length, 10 fingers, 10 toes, 8 lbs, 7 oz, and a big appetite. To see pictures of this gorgeous little girl, check out this link. That is all for now, more updates later.

So yesterday was a Lily-filled day. Ultrasound, then OB appointment immediately following, getting last minute baby-related things, then a breastfeeding class that night. Her room is almost ready, we just have to put everything in it's place. We are set for her arrival, and it can't be soon enough.
For those of you who did get that quote in the title, it's from a How I Met Your Mother episode where Lily spends Thanksgiving with Marshall's extremely large family. During dinner they get on the topic of birth, and Marshall's mother reminisces about being blessed with a "beautiful 15-pound boy - not much bigger than this turkey right here". Now that is just ridiculous, but take that weight, add one, then cut it in half. Still a good size (8lbs for the slow crowd), about the size of your average ham - if we continue with the holiday meat analogy.
Why did I bring that up? Because according to the ultrasound that is approximately how big Lily is right now. The ultrasound tech took measurements of her abdomen, length of her femur, and the size of her head. Then, using those numbers they can calculate an approximate fetal weight. Oh, and the size of her head? The diameter is 9.59cm, giving my poor cervix only 4.1mm of wiggle room to get her out.
Other then the shock of learning that Lily is one big baby, everything else is great health-wise. I've plateaued on the weight gain (so hopefully she has as well), blood pressure is a good 100/60, aside from the feet/ankle swelling everything else is healthy too. Her head has dropped nice and low which means the end is near. And judging by the difficulty to get decent sleep at night, it can't come soon enough.
The next post will probably be after birth, unless she decides to stick it out to her due date. Which, I really really really hope she doesn't. :-)
